Anant Ambani Wedding: Reliance Chairman and billionaire Mukesh Ambani’s son Anant Ambani tied the knot with Radhika Merchant on 12 July, and the wedding was all over the internet. From YouTubers to media outlets, everyone was covering the star-studded wedding ceremony and all the other festivities, giving each and every detail of the events. Not only India, but various foreign media outlets also covered the grand Ambani wedding in their columns.

American daily newspaper the New York Times has called this wedding “a dazzling display of jewels, reviving the tradition of kings in the country.” Along with this, the New York Times has also raised the issue of India’s growing economic inequality. Apart from this, Qatar-based media house Al Jazeera said the expenses incurred in Ambani’s wedding were obscene. British newspaper The Guardian compared the Ambani family to the royal family of Britain. Apart from this, the Pakistani newspaper Dawn also emphasized the increasing inequality in the country.
