Bollywood News: In a first for India in fashion, the luxury brand Chanel has named Bollywood actor Ananya Panday as their brand ambassador for India. At mere 26, Panday has foreshadowed some big names in the industry with her individualistic and bold fashion choices to get Chanel’s trust in representing the values of the brand. Interacting exclusively to The Business of Fashion, Chanel remarked, “Ananya characterises a generation of evolving tastes and fiercely independent identities who navigate the world with their curiosities…Her values resonate with Chanel making her the perfect choice to represent the house.”
Aligned with the ethics and beliefs of Chanel Ananya noted that Chanel embodies “the essence of personal liberation, empowering one to boldly embrace their individuality with timeless elegance”.
Since her debut in the Hindi film industry in 2019, Ananya has evolved into an actress known for her work and a fashion icon with a resonating fashion sense that is bold but independent with a willingness to challenge and reform.
With a filmography including ‘Gehrayiaan’, ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’ and ‘Call Me Bae’ she won the hearts of her audience and critical acclaim.
Now as the brand ambassador of Chanel, she is set to chart new territories of fashion as the face of the luxury brand.
Nonetheless, the appointment of Panday as the brand’s ambassador was anticipated by fashion experts since her appearance at Chanel’s Spring/Summer 2025 show in Paris and her regular mention of Chanel on her Instagram post.

By appointing Ananya as their face in India, Chanel is tapping into the young, and aspirational generation of the country which will statistically 28-32 billion on luxury brands by 2030, as Bain & Company predicts.
Prior to Chanel, Ananya was associated with Swarovski, headlined Jimmy Choo’s India campaigns, and worked with brands such as Lakmé, Beats, and Timex.
