Angry Young Men On Prime Video: Zoya Akhtar Shares The Inspiration Behind Making The Series

Angry Young Men: Writer and director Zoya Akhtar has to her credit shows like ‘Made in Heaven’. With ‘Angry Young Men’ she wanted to archive the birth of a writer or in this case a writer duo which carved a niche for themselves in the industry with their characteristic writing.  

“Aspiration to pass it to another generation”

Sharing her motivation about making the series, she shared that as a writer she has had conversations with Salim Khan whose words made her feel like “this needs to be archived” so the coming generation gets to see how some of the most legendary movies came into being. Her decision to have National Award-winning editor Namrata Rao as the director was rooted in her aspiration to look at the male dominated subject from a female gaze.
