Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania first review: Is Marvel asking too much from fans?
Marvel Cinematic Universe has entered into Phase 5 with Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania, and it seems like the reviews are not as positive as much as it excited the fans.
Ant-Man 3 will premiere on February 17, 2023. The critics have a mixed reaction for the movie, with most of them criticizing the lack of originality in the movie. But mostly, Kang The Conqueror's thrilling character was much appreciated in the movie.
The film revolves around the story of Scott Lang (Paul Rudd), who went from a thief to a superhero, gaining the ability to shrink. Other lead actors include Jonathan Majors, making his debut as Kang the Conqueror, a time-travelling supervillain after Thanos, along with Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne, Kathryn Newton as the adult version of Cassie Lang, Michael Douglas as Hank Pym, and Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet van Dyne.

Being the 31st film in the MCU, the movie has scored quite low than any other Marvel movies, getting only 53 percent on Rotten Tomatoes. It has now become only the second MCU film, after Chloe Zhao’s Eternals, to be a “rotten” or poorly reviewed film.
The Atlantic’s David Sims wrote, “The story is in service of the larger Marvel engine, an increasingly creaky machine that nevertheless keeps grinding away, dropping superstar performers into CGI glop because the show simply must go on.”
Rolling Stone's David Fear wrote, “Quantumania is somehow heavy without feeling substantial, almost desperate in its dourness. Even scattered with occasional wisecracks, it makes Eternals feel positively breezy by comparison.”
‘ANT-MAN AND THE WASP: QUANTUMANIA’ currently has 55% on Rotten Tomatoes from 122 reviews.

I think the real takeaway from Quantumania having a way lower score than Ant Man and the Wasp is that MCU movies may finally be starting to get rated fairly and that we're past the phase of mid to garbage movies getting nothing lower than like 70% just because they're in the MCU pic.twitter.com/NyNgBTMIVY

The coolest thing about the Ant-Man movies is when they recontextualize the scale of everyday objects that we’re all familiar with. When you change Scott’s environment to sludgy alien CGI, it all becomes meaningless and boring? One of the biggest issues with Quantumania. pic.twitter.com/m5EjkEqDpN
