The government is preparing to take a big step regarding the amount lying unclaimed in the banks. In the FSDC meeting, a campaign will be launched to reach the unclaimed amount in banks and other financial institutions to the concerned people. Let us tell you that there is an unclaimed amount of Rs 35,000 in the banks, for which no claimant has come forward. Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman had asked the regulators in the recent meeting of the Financial Stability and Development Council to launch a special drive for settlement of unclaimed amounts in the form of banking shares, dividends, mutual funds or insurance etc.
