Bad Newz Box Office Collection Day 2: The highly anticipated rom-com ‘Bad Newz’ was released on 19 July 2024, starring the quirky trio of Vicky Kaushal, Tripti Dimri, and Ammy Virk. Fans are very excited to see Vicky Kaushal in his full “desi” mode in the movie, with the glamorous Tripti and funky Ammy Virk adding charm to the story. The movie is performing well at the box office since its release, and already became fan-favourite because of its satirical take on a certain rare medical condition known as Heteropaternal Superfecundation. The movie became the biggest opener of Vicky Kaushal’s career, even outperforming movies like Uri, Sam Bahadur, and Raazi. The first weekend witnessed a spectacular growth in the earnings, and now the movie gears up for its first Monday test.

According to trade analyst Taran Adarsh, the movie earned Rs 10.55 Cr on Saturday and saw a 22% increase from its opening weekend earnings. As a result, the film’s domestic box office total was recorded Rs 19.17 Cr. With a projected first-weekend gross of Rs 30 cr, the film is predicted to make double digits on Sunday. On Saturday, the movie’s total Hindi occupancy was 26.81 percent; night shows had the highest occupancy, at 37.51 percent. The occupancy rate in Mumbai increased to 23.50 percent with the addition of more scenes. The occupancy rate in Delhi-NCR was 31.50 percent.

Apart from this, ‘Bad Newz’ became the biggest opener of Vicky Kaushal’s career, even surpassing his previous hit Uri, which earned Rs 8.20 Cr, Raazi earned Rs 7.53 Cr, and Sam Bahadur earned Rs 6.25 Cr. The film received widespread acclaim for its lighthearted comedy and dance numbers, which had already taken over social media. The movie explores the wild world of heteropaternal superfecundation, basically how two men become fathers of a single child through a single woman.

Vicky Kaushal’s wife and actress Katrina Kaif also praised the movie and posted a celebratory post on her instagram, appreciating the work of the Vicky, Tripti and Ammy. She also gave shoutout to Karan Johar and the makers of the film. The film, which has special cameos from Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma, is directed by Anand Tiwari and co-produced by Anand, Hiroo Yash Johar, Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra. Neha Dhupia also plays a supporting role in the film. ‘Bad Newz’ is said to be a spiritual sequel to the 2019 film ‘Good Newwz’, which starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Kiara Advani, and Diljit Dosanjh in lead roles.
