‘Bad News’ appears to be bringing all the luck to its star cast, particularly Vicky Kaushal. The film’s weekend box office collection outperformed Prabhas’ multi-starrer sci-fi drama Kalki 2898 AD, which earned only Rs 8.25 Cr on its fourth Sunday. The film has also become the biggest opener in Vicky Kaushal’s career, even surpassing hits like Uri, Raazi, and Sam Bahadur. The film is now preparing for its first Monday test, which will determine whether it maintains its grip on the fourth day or faces a crunch.
Directed by Anand Tiwari, the film is produced by Hiroo Yash Johar, Anand, Karan Johar, Aporva Mehta, and Amritpal Singh Bindra. Apart from Vicky Kaushal, Ammy Virk, and Tripti Dimri, the movie also stars Neha Dhupia in a pivotal role, with cameos by Ananya Panday and Neha Sharma. Released on 19 July 2024, the film received positive reviews from the audience as well as celebrities, and Vicky Kaushal’s wife and actress Katrina Kaif made sure to be on the list. The actress shared an appreciation post for the star cast and also gave a shout-out to the makers and KJo. The film’s story is far from the typical Bollywood genres, and focused on bringing audiences’ attention to a rare circumstance in the medical industry, based on real-life incidents.
