With her abrupt resignation, she ended her reign of 15 years amid political turmoil in the country, with students’ protest surging unrest. What does her resignation imply in Bangladesh? Aftermath of Sheikh Hasina’s Resignation

Hasina is known as the iron lady of Bangladesh, who rose to prominence as a hardliner leader with several violations of human rights in her State under her rule. Since, her first win in 1996, was often looked at as a non-democratic leader. 

In the aftermath of her resignation, the army has announced to form an interim government in the country to tackle the ongoing student protests that have resulted in thousands of casualties. Post her flee, her official residence was looted by the masses along with their ancestral home-turned-museum.
