Bollywood Stars With International Awards: Indian Cinema is not only confined to the national level, it has been well-recognized on the global stage as well. Be it film stars, movies, or documentaries, the Indian Film industry is making waves with its dramatic and marvellous cinematic representation in different genres. Many Indian films received critical acclamation worldwide and were rewarded with prestigious awards at International events. Additionally, Bollywood celebrities are also on this list, significantly contributing to elevating Indian cinema on the global stage.

Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, the King Khan of Bollywood, has always captivated audiences with his allure and charm, producing many Bollywood superhits such as DDLJ, Kuch Kuch Hota, Jawan, and Pathan. He not only received fan support but also numerous accolades, including 14 Filmfare Awards. Recently, SRK became the first Indian to be honoured with a personalized gold coin with his name. Furthermore, the French government awarded him the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres and the Légion d’honneur, two of the country’s highest honors, and the Indian government bestowed the Padma Shri upon him.

Priyanka Chopra

Desi girl Priyanka Chopra has been making India proud at the international level with her spectacular performances in movies like ‘Love Again’, ‘Citadel’, and more. Priyanka Chopra has won numerous accolades, including a National Film Award and five Filmfare Awards. In 2016, the Indian government bestowed upon her the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest civilian award. She has also received two People’s Choice Awards: Favourite Actress in a New TV Series and Favorite Dramatic TV Actress for her Hollywood television series. She is also the first South Asian actress to receive the People’s Choice Award.

Irrfan Khan

The late Irrfan Khan is best known for his work in Hindi cinema, but he also worked in British films and Hollywood. He is regarded as one of the best actors in Indian cinema, particularly for his versatility. Irrfan won the National Film Award for Best Actor at the 60th National Film Awards in 2012, as well as the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor for his performance in 'Paan Singh Tomar'. Irrfan received the 2014 Asian Film Award for Best Actor, three International Indian Film Academy Awards, three Filmfare Awards, an Independent Spirit Award nomination, and many international accolades. 

Amitabh Bachchan

Amitabh Bachchan rose to prominence in the early 1970s with films like ‘Zanjeer’, ‘Deewaar’, and ‘Sholay’. When it comes to international accolades, Big B is clearly in the lead. He was awarded France’s highest civilian honour, the Knight of the Legion of Honour. In 2001, he received the Actor of the Century award at Egypt’s Alexandria International Film Festival in recognition of his contributions to the film industry. Many other accolades for his achievements have been bestowed upon him at various International Film Festivals, including the Lifetime Achievement Award at the 2010 Asian Film Awards.

Radhika Apte

Radhika Apte began her acting career in theatre, working with the theatre troupe Aasakta in her hometown, before venturing into films. She made her feature film debut with a brief role in the Hindi fantasy ‘Vaah! Life Ho Toh Aisi!’ in 2005. Radhika has come a long way since then and has gone on to act in several Bollywood films including ‘Andhadhun’, ‘Parched’, and ‘Kabali’. She became the first Indian actress to win the Best Actress award for her film ‘Madly’ at the Tribeca Film Festival.

Anurag Kashyap

Known for his eccentric films like ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘Dev D’ and more, Anurag Kashyap is regarded as an auteur and is credited for pioneering India’s indie scene in the early 2000s. In 2013, Anurag was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres (Knight of the Order of Arts and Letters) by the French government at the Cannes Film Festival.

Aishwarya Rai 

Miss World 1994 Aishwarya Rai has established herself as one of the most popular and influential celebrities in India. In 2009, she was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest Indian civilian award, by the Government of India for her contributions to the arts. On her birthday in 2012, she was awarded the Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, a national order of France. Apart from this, she has also received numerous accolades within India for her work in cinema.

AR Rahman

AR Rahman is undoubtedly one of the favourite music composers across the globe. Rahman was the 1995 recipient of the Mauritius National Award and the Malaysian Award for his contributions to music. The composer has won two Grammy Awards: Best Compilation Soundtrack Album and Best Song Written for Visual Media. He also won the prestigious Oscar for the best original song Jai Ho for the film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
