Boycott Maldives Update: Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited the Lakshadweep Isalnds and shared some memorable moments on the ‘X’ app, urging people to visit the beautiful islands and embrace the serenity of Agatti, Bangaram, and Kavaratti. Maldives Tourism Gets Deeply Affected

Many Bollywood celebs came forward to support the Lakshdweep Tourism and urged Indians to explore India’s beaches and islands instead. These include Akshsy Kumar, John Abraham, cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Virendra Sehwag, Salman Khan, Sharaddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor. At the same time, many indian travel companies have also taken major steps to show support in this matter.  Prashant Pitti, Co-Founder of Travel Agency EaseMyTrip, said in an official statement, “We’ve suspended Maldives flight bookings in support of the government, impacting 2.4 lakh annual bookings made through our platform. In fact, bookings surged by approx 40% last year as compared with previous.”
