BTS Kdrama: ‘Youth’ is going to be a delight for every k-drama enthusiast, who is also a part of the BTS ARMY or has a general inclination toward Korean boy bands. Inspired by the life of real-life idols of BTS, ‘Youth’ is a k-drama series produced by HYBE labels in collaboration with Chorokbaem Media and Finger Labs.
The series was initially slated for a premiere in 2020 and got pushed further till November 2023. Fortunately, after multiple delays, the tripartite series will be finally released on OTT platform Xclusive in April 2024. However, the exact date of release is yet to be determined.
The series is inspired by BTS’ nine-track album The Most Beautiful Moment in Life circling around the life of seven adolescents traversing through the tricky roads of teenhood.
The tripartite series has 12 episodes in each part. The show boasts a talented cast ensemble which has been compared with the actual BTS members enthusiastically. Seo Ji Hoon plays Kim Hwan though to be inspired by Jin, and Ro Jong Hyun inspired by YoonGi plays Cein; HoSeok’s comparison is drawn with Ahn Jp Ho’s Hosu, with Namjoon’s similarities found in the character of Dogeon essayed by Seo Young Joo, Kim Yoon Woo plays Haru (Jimin), Jung Woo Jin as Jooan (Taehyung), and Jeon Jin Seo played by Jeha (Jungkook).
The series follows the life of seven teenagers growing up and navigating the complexities of adolescence. At the heart of the plot is Kim Hwan’s character as he embarks on a journey of self-discovery and finds companionship, and true bonds while finding their way through the hardships of youth, social responsibilities and expectations, and loss.
The series is filmed over a year with pre-sales announcements already raising the curiosity of the audience. The pre-sales of the show will be available for a period of one month in April followed by episode-wise purchase in March.
