Budget 2022: PM Modi enlists 5 major education sector announcements made in Budget 2022

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday, addressed a webinar on education sector-related announcements made in the Union Budget, which was presented by Union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman on February 1. He also listed five announcements within the education sector on which emphasis was laid in the Union Budget. 

Major announcements made by PM Modi in webinar

  1. Key decisions have been taken for the universalization of quality education i.e expansion of education with improved quality along with enhanced capabilities of the education sector.
  2. Attention has been given to skill development. The focus is on creating a digital skill ecosystem, skill development as per industry demand, and better industry linkages.
  3. The inclusion of India’s ancient experience and knowledge of urban planning and designing into education is important.
  4. Internationalization has been emphasized. This involves the arrival of world-class foreign universities and encouragement of institutions of GIFT City getting Fintech-related institutes.
  5. Focus on Animation Visual Effects Gaming Comic (AVGV) where there is huge potential for employment and there is a big global market. “This budget will help a great deal in realizing the National Education Policy”, the PM said.

After he made these announcements PM Modi also talked about the Digital University proposed in this Union Budget 2022. He said that this budget will help in implementing the National Education Policy. The problem of shortage of seats can be resolved. There will be unlimited seats. He urged all stakeholders to ensure that the digital university starts as soon as possible.
