Budget 2024: Over Rs 1 Lakh Cr Allocated to Agriculture Schemes, Centre Will Provide Support For Natural Farming

Budget 2024: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget for 2024-25, emphasizing several sectors and announcing various schemes for agriculture, employment, and more. Sitharaman presented the first budget of the Modi government's third term in the Lok Sabha today, July 23, 2024. During the budget session, a significant announcement was made regarding farmers. 


Agriculture Sector Budget 2024

FM Sitharaman announced that Rs 1.52 lakh crore would be spent on agricultural schemes and projects. Farmers will also recieve a higher minimum support price for all major crops, with at least a 50% margin over cost. The PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana was extended for five years, benefiting over 80 crore people. This time, the focus will be on shrimp production and exportation, funded by NABARD.
