Business News: Zomato, India’s largest online food delivery company, has initiated to offer Maternity Insurance Plans for its female delivery partners in exchange for presents. According to the company, the insurance system would cover the costs of pregnancy, labour, and related expenditures for its female delivery partners, providing them with financial stability throughout the pregnancy. Zomato will be providing the maternity insurance plan in collaboration with ACKO.
The food-delivery platform will pay the costs of two children, normal or caesarean deliveries under this insurance plan. Along with this, pregnancy-related issues such as miscarriage or abortion have also been included. Through this insurance, the firm provides its female delivery partners with insurance coverage of up to Rs 25,000 for normal birth and Rs 45,000 for caesarean section. They would also receive insurance coverage of up to Rs 40,000 in the case of abortion or miscarriage. This insurance will be provided to female delivery partners who have been linked to the platform for more than 60 days and have made at least 1000 deliveries.
