Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Monday that the MSME Competitive (LEAN) scheme of the Center is to strengthen the MSME sector which plays an important role in the development of the economy of the country.
On Friday, the MSME Competitiveness (LEAN) scheme was restructured by the Central Government, so that maximum benefits can be given to all parties including MSME traders.
The MSME Competitiveness (LEAN) scheme has been launched by the central government to provide a global competitiveness roadmap for micro, small and medium enterprises. Its objective is to improve the quality, productivity and performance of the products manufactured in the MSME sector to global standards. Under this scheme, the government's focus is on lean manufacturing.
When a producer considers and eliminates wasteful expenditure of resources in the production process on anything other than manufacturing goods for the end customer, it is called Lean Manufacturing.
Under the scheme, the central government contributes 90 per cent of the implementation cost towards handholding and consultancy fees. Also from North East States, SC/ST/Women-owned and members of SFURTI Cluster. They are given an additional contribution of five per cent.
