Chehre Released in Theaters

In an interview with Jagran.com 'Chehre’ Producer, Anand Pandit revealed why he didn’t release the film on OTT.  "Absolutely we would have released it on OTT. We have already made this film in cinema hall format. The vastness that has been given to it, the budget used in its production and the manner in which the technicians have been used, has led to the emergence of such a cinema, which we felt that people should see this type of thriller film on the big screen. But I would like more. For the film, we have roped in a high level of technicians, be it sound designing or Vinod Pradhan's cinematography. Accordingly, we felt that it would get more justice for the film on the big screen. People will get the best experience on the big screen.”

While the film was completed before the advent of the pandemic, the release was on halt due to lockdown. Talking about the financial difficulties during manufacturing the film, Pandit said"There is no financial loss for me because it is not that I have taken a loan from a bank or taken money from a private financier. It's not a problem for me."

Anand further shared his views on the emergence and influence of OTT and its threats to the cinema.  “I think both the formats will complement each other. There are many such great actors, technicians and directors in the industry, who do not get a chance to release their films in theatres, for them OTT is a very good medium. Talking about cinemas, it is a different experience for people. It is not just watching a movie, but there is also an opportunity for outing or outing with family. Accordingly, OTT and theater cannot be compared. But, I think together these two mediums will make the industry bigger.” Says Anand.

When asked why the film cannot be released simultaneously on both OTT and cinema, Anand comments, “ the film will come on OTT only after 6 or 8 weeks. If this is not done, then the institution called theater will be destroyed.”

Impact Rhea Chakraborty on film amid Sushant Singh Case

Talking about Rhea Chakraborty’s role in the film, the producer was questioned if he feared that due to her and Sushant Singh’s case, the film will be impacted. Answering the question he says, "When we put the trailer, in the comments we got on YouTube, 95 percent of the people appreciated us that it is good, you stood with a girl who was a victim of a poor situation. I have no fear at all about Riya's presence in the film.

Chehre is been directed by Rumi Jafry and features Amitabh Bachchan as Lateef Zaidi, Emraan Hashmi as Sameer Mehra, Krystle D'Souza as Natasha Oswal, Rhea Chakraborty as Aana, Tawhid Rike Zaman as Aana's friend, Siddhanth Kapoor as Joe, Annu Kapoor as Paramjeet Singh Bhuller, Samir Soni as G. S. Oswal, Alexx O'Nell as Richard, Dhritiman Chatterjee as Justice Jagdish Acharya and Raghubir Yadav as Hariya Jatav.
