Coronavirus India Update: Clinical trials on Corbevax approved by DGCI, vaccine expected till October.

Coronavirus India Update:

The vaccination against the Covid-19 virus is being considered the best and the only safe way from this pandemic. As stated by the Union Health Ministry, over 74 lakh Covid-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the past 24 hours, while the county has already vaccinated over 66 crores of its population.

54% of India’s total population has been vaccinated with the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, while 16% of people have been vaccinated with both doses of the Covid-19 vaccine.

DCGI approves trials on Corbevax vaccine for children:

While as per the recent reports, DCGI has approved the cynical trials on Hyderabad Pharmaceutical company Biological-E’s Covid-19 vaccine Corbevax with certain restrictions, for children from 5 to 18 years.

These Corbevax vaccine trials for children will be conducted at 10 places in the country, and the trials will obtain information around its safety, effects, and also the number of antibodies made.

The Corbevax vaccine is expected to be available by October 2021. While Rs 100 crore has been given to Biologicals E Ltd. by the central government and this vaccine may be available in the next few months, as the government has signed a deal of 30 crore vaccines doses with Biological E.

It must be noted that as of now, trials on around 4 Covid-19 vaccines are being done in India while Zydus Cadila’s vaccine ZyCoV-D has

been approved for emergency use in India.
