Jaishankar lands in Ahmedabad, to file nomination for Rajya Sabha election on July 10

According to a BJP spokesman, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar travelled here on Sunday to file his papers for the Rajya Sabha elections from Gujarat on July 10. Jaishankar, who along with two other RS members from Gujarat have terms that expire on August 18, is expected to submit his nomination form on Monday at or around midday, according to Gujarat BJP general secretary Pradeepsinh Vaghela. At the Ahmedabad airport, Jaishankar was welcomed by ministers Raghavji Patel and Kirit Parmar, the mayor of Ahmedabad, and MLAs Amit Shah and Payal Kukrani of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
