The prestigious Governor of the Year Award for 2023 was given to Shaktikanta Das, Governor of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). Das emphasised in his speech how central banks' roles in the monetary and financial systems are changing and how they are now faced with important duties that go above and beyond their traditional mandates. During its summer meetings in London, Central Banking, a renowned organisation that extensively covers and examines issues pertaining to central banks and financial regulators worldwide, presented the award.
