Govt of India appoints Ravneet Kaur as CCI Chairperson
Ravneet Kaur has been chosen by the government to lead the Competition Commission of India (CCI). Since Ashok Kumar Gupta's retirement from the CCI in October 2022, there hasn't been a full-time chairperson for the previous seven months.According to a formal order, Kaur, an Indian Administrative Service officer from the Punjab cadre and a member of the 1988 batch, will be in charge of the competition regulator for a period of five years.Since October 2022, Sangeeta Verma, a CCI member, has served as chair.
Former coal secretary Anil Jain to head Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB)
Anil Kumar Jain, a former coal secretary, has been chosen to lead the Petroleum and Natural Gas Regulatory Board (PNGRB).Jain, an IAS officer from Madhya Pradesh's 1986 batch, has spent more than ten years creating policy for the energy industry at the coal and petroleum ministries as well as Niti Aayog. Jain holds a degree in energy studies and has written a book and several papers on the domestic natural gas industry.
