Arjun Ram Meghwal appointed as the Law Minister
Kiren Rijiju was replaced as the Union Law Minister by Arjun Ram Meghwal, a Rajasthan-based BJP member, in a cabinet reshuffle on Thursday. Meghwal previously served as the Narendra Modi administration's Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs and Culture.Meghwal, who is currently in charge of the law ministry, had not previously hold a cabinet level, which is also important to note.
Siddaramaiah appointed as the CM of Karnataka
After five days of uncertainty following the Congress' convincing election victory, Siddaramaiah will take over as Karnataka's next chief minister and DK Shivakumar will serve as his deputy, the party declared on Thursday. On Saturday, they will take an oath. Days of internal squabbling during which both candidates vied for the position of leader ended with the announcement of the choice.
