Delhi Metro introduces QR code-based tickets
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has begun using paper tickets with QR codes on all of its lines starting on May 8, 2023, in order to make metro travel more seamless, simple, and time-saving. DMRC has upgraded its automatic fare collection (AFC) gates and token/customer service counters to support the QR-based paper tickets in order to deploy this feature. However, paper tickets are not refundable, so metro users must be aware of this. By the end of this month, DMRC intends to introduce its mobile-based QR tickets.
