Cyber Fraud: Jabalpur Man Lost Rs. 2 Lakh By Clicking On A Photo In a Steganography Scam

Cyber Fraud:  Getting advanced from regular phishing, hacking, or ransomware, cyber frauds are now using a new technique to scam people called Steganography. A man in India’s Madhya Pradesh fell prey to their latest trick. Here is all we know about it. 

A man from Jabalpur, MP lost Rs. 2 lakh by clicking on a photo he received on his Whatsapp. The fraudsters were able to have access to his confidential credentials as soon as he clicked on the photos because the photo was embedded allowing them to extract information about his band details.

This kind of cyber fraud is called Steganography where the scammer shares an embedded image or audio scheme and as soon as one clicks on the sent message their data is compromised.
