National Consumer Right Day is celebrated on 24thDecember. It has been celebrated since the year 2000 and the theme for this year was ‘Tackling Plastic Pollution’.
Anchal Thakur won bronze medal in international skiing at Montenegro
Anchal Thakur has become the first Indian who won two international medals in skiing. She won the alpine skiing competition which was held under the banner of the Jamaican national championship. Before this, she won her first bronze at the 2018 Alpine Ejder 3200 Cup held in Turkey. She will now prepare for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
DRDO successfully conducted test of high speed expendable aerial target 'Abhyas'
The Defence research and Development Organisation (DRDO) successfully conducted a flight test of high speed expendable aerial target Abhyas. The test was conducted on 23rd December, at the Chandipur coast in Odisha.

The Eternal Gandhi Museum Houston received a grant of 4.75 lakh USD from Fort Bend County under the American Rescue Plan. The museum will work to reinforce the values of Gandhi. The Foundation ceremony took place on 3rd July 2021
CRPF announced to deploy women commandos for Z-Plus security
The very first batch of the women commandos will comprise 32 combatants. The commandos will be deployed to the CRPF protectees soon. Z-Plus security is a special protection group which consists of 36 guards. 10 NSG or National Security Guards and SPG or Special Commando Group. It also includes guards of Indo-Tibet Border Police and Central Reserve Police Force.
Nav Bharat Saksharta Abhiyan for 100 percent literacy
The New India Literacy or Nav Bharat Saksharta Abhiyan will commence from April 2022 which aims to attain 100 percent literacy rate. Under this campaign, 50 million people of the age of 15 years and above are targeted to provide education by online and offline means.
