While many of us were happy to see Kpop sensation BTS member Jeon Jungkook performing the FIFA 2022 anthem song, Deepika Padukone filled our hearts with enormous pride and respect when she unveiled the FIFA World Cup Trophy alongside Iker Casillas, becoming the first Indian to represent India on FIFA grounds. The actress unveiled the trophy at the Lusail Stadium in Qatar after the final between Argentina and France took place. Sharing the moment on her social media, Deepika said, “From unveiling the FIFA World Cup Trophy to witnessing one of the greatest games in sporting history, I truly couldn’t have asked for more.”
Oscars 2023 Presenter
In another historic moment, Deepika was announced as the presenter at the 95th Academy Awards 2023 held on 12th March in Los Angeles. She introduced the performance of “Naatu Naatu” from the film ‘RRR’ which later won the Oscar award for Best Original Song, creating another historic moment for India.

Deepika Padukone was also named as a jury member at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival in 2022.
