Delhi News: The BJP government in Delhi has made a major decision of investigating all the large building projects conducted over the last ten years by the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, particularly those that cost more than Rs 20 crore and weren’t finished on time. The government witnessed losses as a result of the increase in construction costs caused by the delay, thus it will now be determined who was accountable for these delays and whether any action was taken against them. Those who committed corruption will face severe consequences.
The Delhi government has announced that many Public Works Department (PWD) projects will be investigated. This department is in charge of development projects such as cleaning roads, government buildings, and drains in Delhi. PWD also built multiple flyovers and elevated corridors, but it has been the focus of much controversy in the past. For example, the Delhi government’s CBI, Central Vigilance Commission, and Anti-Corruption Branch are all looking into cases involving the renovation of Sheesh Mahal and the construction of new classrooms in government schools.
