Earthquake in Delhi-NCR: The citizens of the national capital woke up in panic after an earthquake of 5.0 magnitude hit the capital region in the early morning hours, making people rush out of their homes. The earthquake occurred at 5.36 am with an intensity of 5.0. Despite the intensity being so low, people felt strong tremors and loud sounds. The epicenter of the earthquake was in Dhaula Kuan. 

PM Modi Tweet on Earthquake

Prime Minister Narendra Modi shared a post on social media platform ‘X’ to express his concern about the earthquake. In his post, PM Narendra Modi wrote, “Earthquake tremors have been felt in Delhi and surrounding areas. We urge everyone to remain calm and follow safety precautions and be alert to possible tremors. Officials are keeping a close watch on the situation.” The BJP Legislature Party meeting scheduled for today to elect the new Chief Minister of Delhi has also been postponed to February 19, and the swearing-in is expected to take place on February 20.
