Eid Holiday Cancelled: Haryana Govt Cites Financial Year End, Makes It A Restricted Holiday

Eid Holiday Cancelled: The  Haryana government has revised the state’s holiday list, and canceled the Eid holiday in the state citing the closing of the financial year as the reason.

Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi has issued a letter downgrading the Eid holiday from a gazetted holiday to a restricted holiday, meaning that it is not a mandatory holiday but the employees can take the holiday based on their personal or religious beliefs. 

The decision has stirred a wave of dissatisfaction and frustration in the Muslim community of the state as Eid remains a significant festival for them.
