Election Commision of India removes three officials from election duty after complains from SP chief Akhilesh Yadav

An additional election officer in Bareilly ,the nodal officer for EVMs in Varanasi and a returning officer in Sonbhadra district have been pulled out from election duties, a day before the counting of votes in UP, news agency PTI reported.

The Election Commission (EC) has removed these three officials from election duty on Wednesday, a day after the SP chief Akhilesh Yadav accused BJP of “stealing votes” and claimed that electronic voting machines (EVMs) were being shifted in an unauthorized manner.

Additional DM Nalini Kant Singh (Varanasi), Additional Election Officer V K Singh(Bareilly) and Ghorawal returning officer Ramesh Kumar(Sonbhadra) are the three officials who have been discharged from their election duty for negligence in EVM transportation. ballot boxes and other election items were found inside a garbage collection bin of the local municipality in the Baheri area.
Meanwhile, two FIRs have been registered by the police against 300 unknown people for violence and hooliganism while protesting the transportation of EVMs on Tuesday.
