EV Policy 2.0: The new chief minister of Delhi, Rekha Gupta is determined to combat the issue of air pollution and poor air quality in the city by imposing a stricter electric Vehicle policy.
The center plans to replace 75% of cars on Delhi’s roads with EVs under the new draft of EV Policy 2.0.
Under this policy, the government mandates that every buyer’s third car should necessarily be an electric vehicle. This will promote the sale of EVs, and also reduce the impact of vehicles running on petrol, diesel, or CNG.
A major boost will be given to the EV infrastructure in the city with an EV charging station built at every 5-kilometer distance. There will be approximately 13,000 EV stations all over the city.
