Exclusive Interview: Nimrat Kaur reveals she gained 15Kgs for her role of Bimla Devi, Watch Video

Abhishek Bachchan, Yami Gautam and Nimrat Kaur will soon be seen in the upcoming film Dasvi. The story of the film revolves around a politician Ganga Ram Chaudhary (played by Abhishek Bachchan) who is in prison for the teacher recruitment scam in the state.

In this special conversation with Dainik Jagran about Dasvi,Abhishek and Nimrat share the theme of the film. They talk about how education is very important for society, and also some special anecdotes related to the film. 

Nimrat Kaur Gain 15 Kgs For film Dasvi

In the same interview Nimrat also shares that she ate a lot for the film as her role required her to look different. For the role she gained 15 Kgs weight and also kept away from the media so that nothing could be revealed. 

Talking about her character Bimala Devi in the film Nimrat says, “Bimla Devi is quite an entertaining character. But to fit into the character of Bimala Devi, I had to eat a lot of food and gain a lot of weight. However, during this time I have gained a lot of weight. I had increased my weight by 15 kg. Actually it was not necessary to increase the weight, but my emphasis was more on the fact that my weight can increase as much as it seems on the screen that I am not Nimrat but Bimla, so this is my weight gain journey. It was amazing."

Nimrat further added, "I used to miss all the diets I used to eat or the food I used to eat very much. Apart from this, I have enjoyed almost every Punjabi dish and every kind of taste that increases weight. You think about the life of an actor. There are so many restrictions regarding food and because of this role, I got an opportunity to fulfill all my wishes."

Nimrat continues the conversation and says, "The director of my film had become my mother during this time. Every day his message used to come that hey you are eating food or not eating. Keep eating so that the weight increases. Not only this, I used to be afraid to share photos of any healthy food on Instagram during this time because on seeing the photo, director Tushar used to get a call that why are you eating this food, how will you gain such weight. So overall I had a lot of fun. And to be honest, there is a proverb in Punjabi, Chepna toh main khana chepa hai."
