EXCLUSIVE: Watch Yami Gautam share her experience from Disney Hotstar film 'A Thursday'

BOLLYWOOD EXCLUSIVE: Yami Gautam’s recent digital film ‘A Thursday’ has been released on the OTT platform Disney Hotstar. The actress shared her experience of the films and her preparations related to the character in an Exclusive Interview with Jagran New Media. Yami Gautam’s preparation for ‘A Thursday’

Yami Gauatm shared her experience of the preparation for the film. As per the actress, the character she played in the film required a lot of emotional and mental homework. Yami Gautam suggested that it is easy to inculcate a skill that needs physical involvement, but when it is about understanding a character, it can be challenging. She revealed that she gave enough time to the character to understand it thoroughly and created an authentic body language for her character Naina. She put a lot of detailing into subtle expressions that she would give in front of the camera.

Yami Gautam on working with Kids

In the film ‘A Thursday’ Yami plays the character of Naina who takes 16 pre school kids as hostages. The shooting involved a lot of work with the kids, and she appreciates the energy of having kids on set. She also said that it can be challenging to match the energy with the kids since they are smart and aware. Their never ending questions and curiosity puzzled her down. However, the actress had a great experience shooting with kids and she found them cute. Yami appreciated the mothers who deal with tiny but super energetic kids all the time.

Yami Gautam also revealed how the shoot took place since the narrative of the film is dark which also includes kids. Yami tells us that many such intense scenes were shot separately, away from the kids so they do not get affected by anything around them. However, to keep the intensity of the story as intact as it should have been, the film was shot wisely.

The crime thriller drama has been directed by Behzad Khambata and produced by Ronnie Screwvala and Premnath Rajagopalan under their banners RSVP Movies and Blue Monkey Films. The cast includes Yami Gautam, Atul Kulkarni, Dimple Kapadia and Neha Dhupia in pivotal roles.

Yami Gautam Upcoming Films

The actress revealed about her upcoming projects. Aniruddha Roy Chowdhary's directorial film will feature her in the role of a journalist, it will be a woman centric emotional thriller drama. In another one, she will be seen as an IPS jailor and the film will talk about the education system. Apart from these, she has ‘Oh My God’ sequel and ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ in hand. She feels proud for the films she has done which includes her first film Vicky Donor,  Kabil, Uri, Bala and the latest release A Thursday.
