Farmer Protest: The ongoing conflict between farmers and the government has created quite a stir in the nation. The government is often accused of ignoring the benefits of the farmers. However, the governments of the present and the past have implemented many schemes for the benefits of the farmers. Check out these five initiatives and plans for farmers launched by the government of India.
The Prime Minister Kisan Mandhan Yojana started on 12 September 2019. Farmers aged 18 to 40 are included in the plan. The premium of the fund is from Rs. 55 to Rs. 200 per year. In return, the pension is Rs. 3,000 per month after 60 years of age.
The PM Kisan Samman Nidhi started on 24 February 2019 with an aim to provide the farmers with the means to earn a living. Farmers are given Rs. 6,000 per year, on the installment of Rs 2,000.
The plan started in 2016 to help farmers in the loss of their crops due to the natural disaster.
In this scheme, farmers get up to Rs 2 Cr loan to make cold storage processing unit, warehouse packaging unit.
