Farmers Protest: The Haryana government is awaiting the Supreme Court’s ruling following the High Court’s decision to open the Shambhu border near Ambala on the Haryana-Punjab border. In addition, the eight-layer security wall and barricades that have been installed on the Shambhu border for the past five months are not going to be taken down yet.

Police on High Alert

Meetings have also started between the farmers who have been sitting in Shambhu for the past five months. Addressing the meeting on Monday, farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher stated that the farmers’ organization will surround Ambala’s DC and SP offices on July 17 and 18. Even the National Highway Authority of India’s team has yet to receive instructions to remove the barricades. The police are concerned that as soon as the road is opened, farmers will march towards Delhi with tractors and trolleys, causing damage to government property and creating a nuisance.
