Kisan Mazdoor Azadi Sangram Diwas:
Farmers protesting against the three black agricultural laws of the Center have decided to observe the country's 75th Independence Day as 'Kisan Mazdoor Azadi Sangram Diwas'.
Following the national call of the United Kisan Morcha, farmers across the country will take out 'tricolor rallies' at the block and tehsil level on this day. The farmers, however, insisted that they would not enter Delhi.
Kavita Kuruganti of All India Kisan Sangharsh Coordination Committee (AIKSCC) said, “United Kisan Morcha has called upon all constituent organizations on 15th August to observe this day as Kisan Mazdoor Azadi Sangram Diwas and on this day the tricolor march will be organized.
Adding further, she said, “On this day farmers and laborers will take out tractor, motorcycle, cycle and bullock cart, etc. in the tricolor march and will travel towards the block, tehsil, district headquarters. They can also visit nearby dharna sites. During this time the tricolor will be on the vehicles.
Farmer leader Abhimanyu Kohar informed that rallies would be taken out across the country from 11 am to 1 pm. While in Delhi also, tricolor marches will be taken out at Singhu, Tikri, and Ghazipur borders and programs will be organized throughout the day.
Farmer leader Jagmohan Singh said, "Farmers on Singhu will take out a march from the main stage at the protest site to the KMP Express, about eight kilometers away." The farmers have insisted that the tricolor rally on 15th August would be peaceful and at a distance from Delhi.
"The developments of 26th January had defamed our movement, so the tricolor march will not come to the city on 15th August, but our agitation will not end until our demands are met," Singh said.
