Federal Trade Commission Presses Antitrust Charges on Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta

World News:  Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg is facing charges of antitrust for acquiring WhatsApp and Instagram to establish a monopoly and ‘neutralize’ his competition. The Federal Trade Commission has pressed charges against Meta for which Zuckerberg is attending an antitrust trial. The federal government believes Meta’s move to buy the two most popular private message-sharing apps creates a monopoly where one company owns the most data about a user. If the FTC dominates in the case, it threatens Meta as the company can lose its  $1.3 trillion business empire. 

The monopoly claims of the federal government further raise the question of how social media influences not just choices but also behaviors.
