Festive Season: As the festive season is going on, it becomes somewhat difficult for people who are travelling this time, especially since it takes a lot of time to get confirmation of train tickets. In such a situation, many travellers choose the flight option which is actually very expensive for middle-class people. Despite this, if you still choose to purchase a flight ticket, the airlines add a number of additional fees, which makes the total cost even more expensive. Concerned by this “dark pattern” of airline firms, the government has called for a stakeholder conference.

What is ‘Dark Pattern’ in Airlines?

When you want to book a flight, the costs always keep fluctuating. In such cases, customers frequently book flight tickets ahead of time. Airlines encourage you to complete free web check-in online in the name of convenience. However, you are asked to pay an additional fee to book the seat of your choice during web check-in. The government stated that this irregularity of airlines will be considered as more than 10,000 complaints have been received on the National Consumer Helpline to date. The Ministry of Consumer Affairs will hold a meeting of all parties involved with airlines and UDAN on November 8.
