ONDC is an open source network that helps local business across multiple segments including grocery, food ordering and delivery, hotel booking. ONDC started in September 2022. However, now the popularity of this platform is increasing rapidly. According to reports, it is delivering more than 10,000 orders daily. Out of this, 40% orders are being delivered in Bangalore.
According to Motilal Oswal, the delivery of first order on ONDC apps is free. Motilal Oswal told that in case of discount or free delivery, this charge is given by the restaurant. It is to enhance the competitive advantage against the existing monopoly and it is not permanent. Also, the charge after the first free delivery is higher than Zomato or Swiggy.
