Flat White Coffee Day: Search engine Google is celebrating ‘Flat White Coffee’ Day with a creative animated doodle, visible across several countries including India. Flat White is a popular beverage said to have originated from Australia and New Zealand. Through an innovative Doodle, google explains the history and origin of the most preferred beverage known for its creamy texture. The origins of the flat white, the most beloved beverage consisting of steamed milk poured over a shot of espresso, is a debatable topic amongst the Aussies and Kiwis.

What is Flat White?

A flat white consists of an espresso shot topped with steamed milk and a thin layer of microfoam, and it is traditionally served in a ceramic cup. Flat whites are popular among coffee connoisseurs who prefer less foam in their beverage, as they are “flatter” than a cappuccino or latte. According to a food historian, a standard espresso is called a ‘short black’, a larger version with hot water is called a ‘long black’, and a coffee with milk is called a ‘flat white’.

How To Make Flat White

A flat white is made by combining microfoamed milk and either a single or double shot of espresso. This microfoam, created by aerating steamed milk, improves the beverage's smooth texture and creamy flavor. To achieve the ideal consistency and texture, precise steaming and pouring techniques are required when preparing this beverage. The key feature of a flat white is the balance of espresso and milk, with the microfoam blending seamlessly into the coffee, resulting in a creamy and satisfying beverage. Flat whites have gained popularity in coffee culture around the world, and many people enjoy their simple yet sophisticated flavor profile.
