H1N1 Cases: Increasing Cases of Seasonal Flu in Delhi, Know Prevention Tips, Symptoms, and More

15 Mar, 2025

H1N1 Cases in Delhi: The outbreak of H1N1 swine flu in Delhi has seen an unexpected surge in cases, with the number of patients growing. When an infected individual coughs, sneezes, or comes into contact with contaminated surfaces, droplets in the air disseminate the influenza virus. While anybody can develop H1N1, people over the age of 50, small children, and those with pre-existing diseases such as diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, asthma, or COPD are more prone. The symptoms include a high fever, cough, sore throat, nasal congestion, body pain, and, in extreme cases, difficulty breathing, chest spasms, vomiting, or diarrhea.

H1N1 Prevention Tips

Maintain proper hygiene by washing your hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use a sanitizer if water is not available. It is best to avoid touching your face frequently and to cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or handkerchief when coughing or sneezing. Used tissues must be properly disposed, and personal objects such as cups, plates, and utensils should not be shared. Wearing a mask is suggested, especially in crowded areas. If you have flu symptoms, you should stay at home, rest, and avoid contact with people. If you experience difficulty breathing, severe chest pain, dizziness, frequent vomiting, or an increase in fever and cough, seek medical attention immediately.
