HMPV Virus Outbreak: On Monday, the stock market plummeted as the HMPV virus spread across India. The stock market experienced widespread panic as a result of two incidences in Karnataka and one in Gujarat. The indices of the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange closed down more than 1.5 percent. Due to this fall, stock market investors lost more than Rs 11 lakh crore.
The rupee has fallen sharply against the dollar. On the other side, foreign investors continue to sell. Asian markets also fell 1.40 percent on Monday. Finally, the mood of the stock market can be viewed in comparable ways as a result of budget and Fed policy signals, as well as quarterly results. However, over the last two trading sessions, the Sensex and Nifty have fallen by more than 2%.
