Honda City e:HEV - First Drive Review. Watch Video

Honda Cars India has introduced the hybrid City in the market at a price of Rs 19.50 lakh (ex-showroom, India). Available in ZX trim, the hybrid is pricier by almost Rs 4.5 lakh over the standard City ZX.

Honda has become the first brand to introduce a fully-hybrid car in sub-Rs 20 lakh segment, and the sedan has a staggering fuel efficiency of 26.5 kmpl.  The Honda City e:HEV hybrid sedan will be manufactured in India at the company's manufacturing facility in Tapukara, Rajasthan. The deliveries for the City Hybrid have also commenced.

Under the hood of the Honda City e:HEV hybrid is a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder, Atkinson Cycle petrol engine and two electric motors which on song deliver 124 bhp and 253 Nm of peak torque. The City Hybrid is 40% more fuel-efficient than its petrol counterpart.

The City e:HEV also gets updated with disc brakes at all corners and an electronic parking brake. The Honda City e:HEV hybrid sedan has three drive modes - EV, hybrid, and petrol, and can run on electric power in the EV mode. The Honda City e:HEV hybrid receives ADAS functions via Honda Sensing such as Lane Change Assist, Pedestrian Alert, and Adaptive Cruise Control.
