What is Dengue fever?

Dengue fever, which is spread by mosquitoes, affects tropical and subtropical regions of the world. A high body temperature and flu-like symptoms are the hallmarks of mild dengue fever. The deadly dengue hemorrhagic fever, also known as the severe form of the disease, can result in significant bleeding, a sharp drop in blood pressure, and shock.


Is Dengue fever contagious?

Dengue fever cannot be spread from one person to another, unlike the flu. Another person cannot catch dengue unless a pregnant woman does. Getting dengue while pregnant  puts your unborn kid at risk for infection.


Common Symptoms of Dengue fever?

  • Mild to severe Headache

  • Muscle, bone or joint pain

  • Nausea (It is possible for some to not feel Nausea)

  • Vomiting

  • Pain or Burn behind the eyes

  • Swollen glands

  • Rash

In which season does Dengue spread?

The dengue outbreak reaches its height from June to August and even goes till September during the wet season. Dengue is believed to spread significantly depending on the climate.
