UPI Account Transfer: Sometimes, many of us mistakenly transfer money to the wrong UPI account and it is difficult to recover the money. But now you need not worry about your money, as the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has simplified the refund process after receiving many complaints regarding wrong account transfers. You can simply lodge a complaint in the bank.
If you have sent your money to the wrong account, call on the toll-free number 18001201740 and provide all the details regarding the transaction to file a complaint. Visit your bank and fill in the form with all the information. A bank number or request number will be given to you by the bank manager. You can also register your complaint by mail at bankingombudsman.rbi.org.in. Always remember that you should have the official document of the wrong transaction, and do not delete any message regarding the complaint as a PPBL number is provided which acts as proof. You can file a complaint within three days of the wrong transaction, and if that account is verified, then the refund depends on the accountholder when he/she will accept the reverse transaction appeal.
