It is always presumed that only intelligent students make it to some prestigious jobs further in their career as these require much hard work, but this notion has also been proved wrong by IAS Kumar Anurag who became an IAS officer in his second attempt and even secured an impressive rank 48 after being a bank-bencher in his school. And in this article further, we will read more about Anurag’s journey to become an IAS officer and how did he prepare for the same.
Anurag started his education from a small Hindi-medium school, and after completing his high school, Anurag was sent to another state to pursue further education, but the school he joined was an English-medium school after which he faced quite a difficulty. Anurag further shared that even after being an average student, if he wishes to do something, he'll get that done anyhow. He secured more than 90% marks in his 10th but failed the 12th Maths pre-boards exam. But finally, Anurag secured more than 90% marks in his 12th exams too.
Anurag pursued his graduation from Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC), DU and has always been a backbencher there. After so many backs, Anurag finally completed his graduation and enrolled into Delhi College of Economics for his M.A. Anurag in an interview shared that a person should never lose hope and keep on trying to reach his/her goal. To excel, a person should be known to the fact that why is he failing and should try to overcome that. Anurag even after many failures due to an unorganised study routine appeared for the UPSC Civil Service exam believing his capabilities. To prepare for his IAS exam, Anurag gave many mock tests and prepared notes for his studies.
Well, it should be noted that Anurag in his first attempt cleared the UPSC exam by securing low scores and 677th rank. But without giving up, Anurag started preparing for the UPSC Civil Service exam again and after learning from his previous mistakes, Anurag appeared for the UPSC exam again in 2018 and secured the 48th rank.
