The importance of immunity in our bodies has been very well defined and justified during such times of the Covid-19 pandemic. While talking about the ways to increase our immunity, our diet, and the food we consume becomes a key factor to be talked about.
People usually, and also during the time, the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic wonder a lot about the type of food they should consume to keep their immunity intact.
Moreover, for the people who have recovered or are still recovering from the Covid-19 virus, immunity plays a pivotal role. The higher the immunity, the lesser the risk of the disease getting severe.
Hence, in this article further, we will know more about the 5 things which we should consume (including children and adults) in order to keep the immunity in our body high, and weakness at bay.
The first and the foremost in the list are the fruits rich in Vitamin C, which includes the Papaya, Orange, Sweet Lime (Mosambi), Watermelon, Coconut Water (Nariyal Paani), Kinnow, Strawberry, and Kiwi. Out of the fruits mentioned above, Kiwi is the most recommended fruit to be consumed if you are recovering from the Covid-19 virus, or have been tested positive for the Coronavirus.
Other than the fruits mentioned above, Covid patients are specifically advised to consume Amla, which is also known as Indian Gooseberries, as it is a natural immunity booster. Adults can have 1-2 amla for a day, while children that are below 10 years of age are advised to be served only half a piece of amla per day.
A protein-rich diet is a great immunity boost for the body, but people usually mistake having a protein-rich diet for consuming more meat and non-vegetarian food. But they must note that consuming more non-vegetarian food will ultimately cause it difficult for their body to digest the same, as the body is still fighting against an infection.
Hence, people are advised only to add an egg to their breakfast meal, and that would be sufficient.
During the first wave and also the second wave of the Covid-19 pandemic, people in the country were heavily advised to consume that Kadha, as it is a great immunity booster. The way to prepare a natural Kadha is, In a glass of water, add 1 teaspoon of Turmeric, 1 teaspoon of Cumin, 3 small cloves of green Elaichi (Cardamom), 1 clove of Badi Elaichi, grated ginger, and 2 cloves of Garlic (optional).
Soon after the water boils and remains to half of its volume, consume it when lukewarm. This Kadha is advised to be consumed twice a day.
