Business News: Capital Expenditure of Over Rs 50,000 Cr Spent By Govt Companies in April

Business News: Government companies have spent more than Rs 50,000 Cr in April. The capital expenditure of FY25 is Rs 7.7 lakh crores. However, this figure is slightly less than the expenditure of Rs 54,000 crores in April of FY24. Most of the money is spent on infrastructure projects such as the railway, road sector, and petroleum sector. 

Capital Expenditure in April

The government has been investing a lot in the railway sector for a long time, which continued at the same pace in FY25. The companies in the railway sector spent more than 50% of the Rs 50,000 Cr spent. The public sector companies of the railway spent approximately Rs 7,26,641 Cr in April. Apart from this, the NHAI spent approximately Rs 6,645 Cr, the ONGC spent Rs 318 Cr, the NTPC of the power sector spent Rs 2083 Cr, and India Petroleum spent Rs 1155 Cr and Rs 417 Cr on their capex in April.
