India overtakes China in road networks, says Nitin Gadkari | Jagran Business- Watch Video

After America, India has come second in the world in terms of road network. The special thing is that in this matter India has left China behind. India has achieved the second position by adding 1.45 lakh kilometers of road network since 2014, beating China. Union Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari told the country about this achievement in the field of road infra by holding a press conference. He said that India now ranks second in the world after America in terms of road network.

India's Longest Highway

Union Minister Nitin Gadkari spoke about the achievements of the Ministry during his tenure as the Road Transport Minister. During this, he said that in the last 9 years, India has added many greenfield expressways and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has almost completed the construction of the country's longest Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.

Achievements of NHAI

Nitin Gadkari said that India's road network was 91,287 kilometres 9 years ago. Since April 2019, the National Highways Authority of India has built more than 30,000 kilometres of national highways across the country, including many major expressways.

NHAI created 7 world records during the construction of highways and expressways in the country. In May this year, NHAI completed a new 100 kilometer long expressway within 100 hours. In August 2022, NHAI successfully constructed 75 km continuous single bituminous concrete road on NH-53 in a record time of 105 hours and 33 minutes and registered its name in the Guinness Book of World Records.
