Indian Shoe Sizing System: The number from which we used to measure our shoe size is expected to be replaced with the newly introduced indigenous shoe sizing system “BHA” for making comfortable footwear for Indian sizes. From the year 2025, footwear companies will make shoes separately catering to Indian sizes.
Currently, companies make shoes from 0 to 10 numbers, but now shoes from 1 to 8 numbers will be made. For this, the BHA code will be used, which originated from “Bharat.” The Bureau of Indian Standards has yet to approve this decision. In a recent survey conducted by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research and the Central Leather Research Institute, it was found that the size of Indian women’s feet increases at the age of 11 years, while the size of men’s feet increases at the age of 15 to 16 years.
