Indian Weddings: As winter approaches, so does the festive season along with the most awaited Indian wedding season as well. Whenever we talk about Indian weddings, it’s all about dhol, barat, grandeur, and much more. Talking about this season, the Confederation of All India Traders (CAIT) estimates that between November 23 and December 15, there will be approximately 35 lakh marriages, with a potential expenditure of approximately Rs 4.25 lakh crore on wedding purchases and various types of wedding-related services.
During this season, Delhi alone is expected to host over 35 lakh weddings, contributing to an estimated Rs 1 lakh crore in revenue in the city. During these 23 days of wedding celebrations, about 6 lakh marriages will spend around Rs 3 lakh each wedding, while approximately 10 lakh weddings would cost approximately Rs 6 lakh per event. According to B C Bhartia, National President of CAIT, around 32 lakh marriages took place during the same period last year, with costs totaling Rs 3.75 lakh crore.
